THE EMOTIONAL CLEARING PROCESS / Core Issues
« on: January 07, 2013 »
Hello and best wishes to all in 2013,

Brief background before getting into the "problem". My main fears are centered around social situations, assertiveness and intimacy. I work on myself several years using various tools including meditation, breathwork and yoga. I would say i made some but no real progress.

From time to time i tend to become overwhelmed by what is, i believe, one of my "core issues".  That is feeling of loneliness, despair, entrapment, isolation and hopelessness. I feel it fairly rare and almost never during my sessions. I tend to get in touch with it mostly in the middle of night when i awake with it and mostly it is connected with some kind of separation i am going trough in that period (i travel a lot, and am away from my family and friends most of the time).

Please give me some suggestions/guidelines in how to work with it. I believe, like you stated in your wonderful book, that getting in touch with core feelings is a sign of progress and that is opportunity for transformation. The thing is that this issues arise very rarely so should i do my work regularly waiting core feelings to arise (i worked years and they were very seldom) or should i pursue them more actively?

Many thanks,
Alex

THE EMOTIONAL CLEARING PROCESS / Bodywork
« on: January 01, 2012 »
Hi and Happy New Year to all,

Recently i started practicing type of bodywork recommended by one author that involves inducing tremors as means of releasing muscular tension. According to the author (with background in Body Psychotherapy - Bioenergetics), trembling, tremors are natural way that body uses to reduce stored muscle tension and that we, as "civilized adult humans", are conditioned to think of tremors as bad, unnatural and a sign of weakness thus suppressing them.
He suggests a series of simple exercises that are designed to produce these tremors and they certainly do so.

Since starting using these, and when i am practicing Connected breathing, independently of these exercises (other day or part of the day), when i am accepting what comes up (releasing resistance) i am starting to tremble. This is, according to the author, supposed to be happening and is a good sign.

Overall, i think that this type of bodywork is good and i feel relaxed afterwards. What is the Emotional Clearing take on that? I find it complementary with the work of Integrative processing

Many Thanks,
Alex

THE EMOTIONAL CLEARING PROCESS / Highs and lows
« on: December 03, 2011 »
Is it common that after an intense Rebirthing (or Holotropic) session, which "raises your vibrational frequency", after which you experience very relaxed or even blissful state, in the following days, large amount of suppressed material - much more than usual, surfaces? What is best way to gently integrate these states? Are shorter, less intense sessions recommended?

Thanks,
Alex

THE EMOTIONAL CLEARING PROCESS / Releasing vs Resolving
« on: November 23, 2011 »
One author makes clear distinction between releasing and resolving emotions and emotional charges. In other words, one can be aware of his/her emotional state and release it, but also one can "be with it" to the point of integration or resolution.

Now, if i welcome/allow emotion in the moment it subsides - releases. Is any release a "mini-integration", so to speak, or are there qualitative differences between the two?

Thanks,
Alex

THE EMOTIONAL CLEARING PROCESS / Connected breathing
« on: November 20, 2011 »
Greetings to all,

And special thanks to Mr. Ruskan for developing system that is of great help in my personal journey. At this point, along with the work of Michael Brown (The Presence Process author) i find Emotional Clearing  most valuable tool for dealing with emotions.

In the last year or so, I work extensively with the breath and I wanted to explore further. Since I have no opportunity to take part in Rebirthing or Holotropic Breathwork seminar, I have some questions for John and other members of this forum.

I am specially interested in Conscious Connected Breathing method (no pause between exhalation and inhalation, relaxed exhaling, faster pace) for bringing up suppressed feelings and integrating them. Michael Brown teaches gentle 15-minute twice a day version of this in his work and John Ruskan calls it Integrating Breath. I worked with it quite some time now. First, following instructions from The Presence Process, in which you do not necessarily breath "into" sensations (feelings) that come up. Later, reading articles on Rebirthing and Vivation I started "following strongest sensation" while breathing in this manner. It is different, and mostly more effective experience. But, I never wanted to extend my sessions for more than 20-25 minutes since there are warnings not to try this without facilitator. Now, if I want to go deeper in this process, what is your recommendation? Any experiences and opinions are welcomed.

Thanks,
Alex
