THE EMOTIONAL CLEARING PROCESS / Re: Alcohol
« on: January 12, 2017 »
I just wanted to write a follow up on my last post about alcohol. That last post was some time ago. Today as it stands I haven't had a drink since January 17, 2016. I am almost at the full year mark.

I find this quite extraordinary because I never made it official that i had a 'problem' but knew there was one. I was a daily heavy drinker. But never used the word 'alcoholic'. I still haven't called myself that to this day. I did not even make an official conscious choice to stop drinking for good.

Since starting the ECP practice 2 years ago it was the shift that ECP propelled internally that led me to tapering the drinking down and eventually to the point of not drinking at all. I also maintain a full time yoga practice and a study in Buddhist teaching. All of which are fundamentals in the Emotional Clearing Process.

I hope John, that you come by this post as I really owe it to you for basically turning my life around. If there is anyone else out there who comes by this post and is going through a similar experience with any form of addiction please feel free to write here to me as I am open to hear/discuss about these struggles/successes and share our experiences.

Thanks John, that's really helpful, appreciate it. I'll update on the ongoing progress.

Hi,

I've been practicing regularly for a while. I wrote previously regarding pregnancy, alcohol and other topics etc. those two not being related!

I'm not sure if its because I'm really tired at the end of the day and sleepy but I've been falling asleep in the middle of sessions too much, even in sitting position! I recall John mentioning the meditating hindrances, and I guess I have started to encounter them. I presume this is torpor. It leads me to ask about resistance. There is no doubt that so far I've been making great progress and I expect to bump into walls eventually. When it comes to resistance, I'm not sure where to find it. Are the hindrances representing resistance? Some inner pattern is having a hard time being challenged? I feel I've come close to reaching core issues, but not head on as these hindrances are present right now. Any suggestions?

Also, on a different note, I was just curious about John's take on Deepak Chopra and Richard Dawkins points of view. Are you a fan or not so much? I recently watched a debate between the two of them and it was really charged! Very interesting to hear such passionate view points about our existence. Would love to see you John on a panel like that breaking things down!:)

All the best,
Anna

THE EMOTIONAL CLEARING PROCESS / Alcohol
« on: September 26, 2014 »
I just wanted to mention some recent observations I made about the effects of alcohol and practicing EC in my day to day life. I used to drink pretty much every day in the evening and more than I should. For some time I admitted to myself that it was a problem but nothing else really changed besides me telling myself that. When I tried just changing my behaviour cold turkey I was thrown into panic attacks and overwhelming feelings of defeat, there didn't seem to be a way of stopping. I was so distracted, unable to concentrate, irritable, angry and basically useless. So I kept drinking, because what a relief!

When I discovered EC (what a gift), this was about 9 months ago, it crept into me slowly but powerfully. As I read the book, realizations were being made, logic and clarity guided me. I still drank while at this stage. Then after being thoroughly impressed by the book I got the EC  CD`s. At first the EC sessions were moving and powerful. I felt so many shifts and places that I had no idea were always within me. Those beginning weeks were truly life altering. But...I still drank. As time went on and the sessions found a steady practice in my everyday routine, without consciously even realizing it, I started skipping drinking a day here, a day there because if I didn't drink that day, the EC session was outstandingly more productive and powerful than if I had drank alcohol that day.

And that's how I have gained momentum on the road to recovery from drinking heavy amounts every night. Because of the nature of meditation and truthfulness of EC, I never experienced withdrawal from not having that drink or irritability and anger. I simply wanted to have a great clearing session that night instead, and because the sessions were clearing the negative emotions that were driving me to drink in the first place, the cycle of addiction was gradually compromised.

If anyone else is having or had a similar experience on this subject I`d love to read about it. And John if you read this, I was in therapy as well prior to starting ECP and though it was helpful, therapy did not help as much in bringing the drinking down. So its quite a testament to the ability of ECP. I`d also like to mention that when Im doing a session, I feel like Im really doing something, it requires dedication, commitment, work of sorts. I respect it for that. Its not a gimmicky quick fix formula to get happy. You have to really expand yourself using discipline and get to that place of respecting yourself. Which isn`t always an easy thing for everyone.

Peace

THE EMOTIONAL CLEARING PROCESS / EC Guided Meditation
« on: September 24, 2014 »
Hi there,

I was wondering if by chance John was planning to produce more EC guided meditation cd's. I have found his current one's so helpful and powerful that the idea of a new set coming out would be really exciting. Also, if that was to happen would it be possible to extend some of the sessions/tracks to 90min? Sometimes when clearing it takes a while until the feeling is ready to wind down. I'm sure new material would go like hot cakes. Here's hoping that will happen!

Thanks John for your contribution to mankind, such productive work!

I too felt she was missing a major aspect of integrating painful emotions. EC has had concrete life improving results for me. I tried doing the "work" a couple of times and read her book and I only ended up frustrated and feeling strange. Its wonderful knowing and feeling that the path your on is right and when its not. Thanks John, appreciate your viewpoint as always.

THE EMOTIONAL CLEARING PROCESS / reprogramming thoughts
« on: September 18, 2014 »
Hello,

EC is a part of my everyday routine, and couldn't imagine now being without it. Im so grateful for this, thank you!

I recently discovered the work of Byron Katie who promotes an investigative way to deal with negative thoughts. If by any chance members of the EC community are familiar with this approach I would love to read the opinions. I cant help but recall in Johns book the quote:

It cannot be controlled by intellectually identifying whatever is making you angry and trying to change your reaction through reprogramming yourself or others. Types of therapy in which you try to reprogram your thoughts to alter your feelings can be dangerous. If you use such an approach and appear to be successful, you have merely resuppressed your anger – or any other feeling – and it will come forth another time.

Apologies as my quotations aren't working on my keyboard. Anyway, so I was especially curious of Johns opinion of what Byron Katie calls The Work if by chance he is familiar with it.

Thanks!
Anna

THE EMOTIONAL CLEARING PROCESS / Re: Plateau-ing?
« on: April 25, 2014 »
I am not familiar with astrology, although what I have read on the subject from your book is intriguing. I feel propelled forward (gently nudged onward) now, considering so many factors that must come into play in our work, most that are still beyond us (me). So I will remind myself of this every time I feel 'stuck' or distracted during meditation, and not be so quickly hindered by these seeming obstacles and instead simply witness. Thanks for the nudge:)

THE EMOTIONAL CLEARING PROCESS / Plateau-ing?
« on: April 25, 2014 »
Hi, I have been practicing the EC process for about 2 months, not every day but as often as I can, probably 3 maybe 4 times a week. At first I noticed a definite change in my moods, less anxiety etc. Now I have noticed that I am much more distracted during meditation, seems like every little thing is 'snapping' me back into my head, it even seems like I am more itchy suddenly in random spots etc. It's as though I am unable to go deeper anymore. In the beginning I felt much more connected. So I was just wondering if this was just a common phase that one simply must get through or maybe I am struggling with something more specific? As usual thanks for all your helpful insights.

First off I'd like to say that this experience in EC has been most effective in my life. Having tried all kinds of higher consciousness techniques throughout my life, few have done what John has. It is precise, spiritually moving and profound. I am most thankful for this and grateful. I almost feel frustrated that this is not a basic common knowledge of all humans of how to function better as a human. But that is the nature of nature I suppose.

Having said that, I just wanted to ask if it is safe to continue my daily EC practice throughout pregnancy. Just in case there is info about that. Appreciate any insights.

Thanks! ;)
